~~~~~only one writer in my library, without batting an eye, it would be Charles Spurgeon. What a gifted man. What a short life he lived.
He was born in the United Kingdom in 1834. (101 years before I was!) He died in 1892, in France. Lived 58 short years. He and his wife, Susannah had twin boys, Thomas and Charles. In that short length of time he gave almost 3600 sermons and they were not 30 minute sermons either. I have some of them printed out and they are four and five pages, front and back. I have his Devotional Bible and also his Morning and Evening classical devotional. I want to give you part of one of his morning devotional. Simply straight forward and real. It carries one of my favorite verses as the theme verse for the morning. Found in Heb. 13:5. “I will never leave you nor forsake you”.
Here is what he wrote.
“Boldly believe, because He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” With that promise God gives you everything. There is no attribute of God that can stop working on your behalf. Is He mighty? Then He will show Himself strong on behalf of you who trust Him. Is He love? Then with lovingkindness He will have mercy. Whatever attributes constitute the character of Deity, everyone of them will be fully engaged for you.
“To sum this up: There is nothing you can want; there is nothing you can ask for; there is nothing you can need in time or eternity; there is nothing living; there is nothing dying; there is nothing in this world; there is nothing in the next world; there is nothing now, there is nothing at the resurrection morning, nothing in heaven that is not contained in this text: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
What the man wrote ~~~~ is certainly a mouthful and every word is Truth.
The Christian serves a mighty God. The mighty God loves every one of His own. The love was so strong, so heavy, so secure, so alive that He gave His Son to die that whomever will choose Him over the trash and garbage of the world, will live eternally with Him. He even thought enough of us humans to give us a free will so we can make the choice to live for Him or to live for Satan. Which will it be, my friend!!!!! If you say you know God, James tells us that even the demons believe there in God……and they tremble. Believing there is a God is worthless, useless, a..n..d your ticket for a long, unending, hot life. Be sure that is the choice you really want.
In His will everlastingly!
