My friends, Jim and Patty find themselves busy during the weeks helping all of us who do not have means we once had to get things accomplished during the week. Patty was taking a friend one place and Jim was taking Od and me to see Od’s Doctor.
Following the office call, we were prepared to exit the parking lot when I saw an absolute beauty. A real live Barbie style gal. Four inch (AT LEAST) heels, a very, very mini bikini short set with the top front tied in a knot, a hat, a purse and the 4″ heels blazing in my eyes. Certainly a lot of the Barbie was showing, but isn’t that what it is all about when you show off what you think will make the heads turn. And it always does. And Satan is at the top of the ladder gleefully excited over what he possesses.
I think I may have surprised Jim as well with my amazement. That is…..until he made this statement. “Marge. She is not a she. She is a he.” What!!**~~ No way. No man would do this. And look at him walk in those heels. Smooth as can be. W H A T !!!!!!!!!!!
God forbid. That I should have gloated for even a moment over the ease with which those shoes were worn. That I should have cared AT ALL!!!!! .The sick revolution of man. Oh Satan. He is certainly having his hey-day but it will come to an end. I do not know how many people he will have destroyed but it will be over for him some day in God’s timing and in God’s way.
Let me put you straight as to how God wants His woman to look. Yes. My Friend. In the old torn and tattered book that is so ancient we find it is very very, very up-to-date not only when we find the only sins ever created in the Ten Commandments but also when we find exactly how we are to dress in every generation. Here it is.
“…the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but which is proper for women professing godliness with good works.” (1 Tim. 2:9,10). This is the writing of Paul. Peter is not far behind either. Here is what he writes.
“Do not let your adornment be merely outward- arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel – rather let it be the hidden person of the heart with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is very precious in the sight of God.” (1 Peter 3:1-4).
Every single generation, as long as there are generations on this earth – – every single woman has a guideline right here in God’s Word for dressing. She will wear what is appropriate and in style but will do it with modesty.
As well, we do not want to look totally outdated – don’t want to stick out like a sore thumb but we do want to wear clothing that is not provocative, suggestive or outrageous. Attracting undue attention is not what God had in mind for His beautiful woman when He made her. God’s beautiful woman is one of a kind. May she always remain such.
May I always dress as though my husband was still here and proud of the way I look. How about you ladies? Keep in mind, you are one of a kind. God made you and has given to you everything you will ever need to look your best at any given moment. Clean, modest, lovely in it’s own right. Thank you Lord for giving to us all that we need to make our husbands proud of us and most of all may you look on the heart of such a woman with approval.
God’s woman- a truly converted woman – will reflect in the kind of clothing she selects her heart’s attitude and God will look at that heart and be pleased with her.
In His Hands with a grateful heart! Marge H.
