Yes! Another dear one laid to rest and the memorial for her was held yesterday at our JT’s. She was 97. Just turned 97 a few days before her Homegoing.
I remember so much about her. Not long ago she said “Marge, I don’t want to live another year”, though she kept right on walking every morning when it was cool and would go to Walmart and out with her daughter. I remember she said her husband passed away 27 years ago and she could still smell the smoke from his pipe. He never smoked it indoors but he would sit out on the swing and enjoy it each night.
Yes. I remember too. The aftershave lotion of my husband. Every once in a while, the thought of Loren comes to my mind and as I see him in his suit, walking, I can smell the scent and I remember…….. English Leather. You can never forget……..never.
“Great is Thy faithfulness O God my Father…There is no shadow of turning with Thee. Thou changes not. Thy compassions they fail not. As Thou has been Thou forever will be. Summer and winter and springtime and harvest. Sun moon and stars in their course above join with all nature in manifold witness to Thy great faithfulness. Mercy and love pardon for sin and a peace that endureth. Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide. Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow. Blessings all mine with ten thousand beside. Great is Thy faithfulness. Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy hand hath provided.
Great is Thy faithfulness…..Lord, unto me.”
His compassion continually carries on…..
