Welcome to all my Readers. Since the First of July the following countries have touched base with “The Journey Continues”: Canada, South Korea, U.S., Netherlands, Ireland and Mexico. I am so humbled and so honored. May you find something to light a blaze in your heart and move you ever closer to our Lord.
I have been writing some on a Bible Study which I am doing personally. It is called, “How to Repair Your Broken Faith”. I have completed it one time before but returned to it for a better dissecting than before. I am going to share that part of the journey so you too, can grasp one of the most important concepts that I have ever come upon.
First of all. Let’s go to Hebrews 11:1: “For faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.”
That sentence is not a definition. It is a description. Ah, come on Marge — stop splitting hairs. I am not. In Webster we find these two words:
DEFINITON: The action or power of making definite and clear.
DESCRIPTION: An account that represents a picture. (Now go back to Heb. 11:1 and read it with these two D’s in mind.)
In the Study Dr. Rogers says there are seven reasons why Faith is so important. It seems that now, this time around, I am spending almost a day on each one of those seven and with some I am spending 2 or 3 days. We will get to those later, but not in this part of the Study.
I want you to grasp with me the concept that he says is absolutely imperative that we get a handle on it. Here it is.
Believing the Word of God is mental.
We don’t use our hands, feet, eyes, mouth to believe the Word. It is our minds. MENTAL!
Faith is actual.
The difference between Belief and faith is that faith is belief with legs on it.
Belief is knowing the Word of God. Faith is knowing the God of that Word. These two: “knowing the Word and knowing the God” boggles my mind. Heavy stuff!
Let’s spend some time here. Memorize this concept..
“Believing the Word of God is mental. Faith is actual. The different between Belief and Faith is that faith is belief with legs on it. Belief is knowing the Word of God. Faith is knowing the God of that Word.”
Memorize the whole concept and do your own dissecting and dig deeper and deeper than you ever have before. It is amazing how God saves the best for last. It is when we aim at putting forth the extra time and energy to find those nuggets of gold that we do come upon them. This is the foundation (concept) for Faith.
Leaving it here until next time!
