I went to the grocery store this afternoon just to get away for a bit and begin to see the store(s) decorated for the holiday season. It is Halloween first of course (a cult beginning – – – – – – – but a magnificent ending with Christmas).
Christmas!!!!where all the promise of Life Eternal comes from.
Halloween based on false beliefs about the dead, invisible spirits and demons.
The origin of Halloween can be traced to ancient pagan festival celebrations by the Celtic people more than 2000 years ago. They believed the dead could walk among the living.
The Bible says, “For the living know that they will die; but the dead know nothing and they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten” (Eccles. 9:5).
In medieval Britain supplicants moved from door to door asking for food in return for a prayer for the dead. They arrived with a hollowed out turnip lantern whose candle connoted a soul trapped in purgatory.
In the 1800s in North America, the turnip lantern was replaced with pumpkins because they were plentiful.
In the Bible the immortality of the soul, purgatory and prayers for the dead are spoken of this way: “Behold all the souls are Mine, the soul of the father as well the soul of the son are Mine. The soul who sins shall die” (Ezek. 18:4).
But then we come to Christmas – beautiful time when our Lord who was with our Heavenly Father BEFORE any thing about any thing ever took place, was born as a Babe later to die in my place. Oh yes. He died for you too. But He came back to life. No religion can boast of anything close to the relationship that you and I may have with Him right now, right at this very moment.
What wonderful verses for us. John 1:1-4. It reads: “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. 2) He was in the beginning with God. 3) All thing were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”
Oh dear one! “For there is no other Name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.” Did you get that!!!! NO OTHER NAME given among men whereby we must be saved.!!!! No one has to try to pray for us after we die.
We have sealed our fate either for heaven or hell depending upon what we do with the Lord Jesus Christ, before we die. Laugh about the cuties at Halloween and carve your beautiful pumpkins and then be sure that you understand the founding of this cult and that you are willing to stay headed where you are going.
It is interesting ~~ you cannot keep one foot in heaven and one in hell and expect to be Homeward Bound to the Glory Gates. One foot in heaven and one foot in hell is the same as both feet in hell. Happy Halloweening. Blessed Christmas Season.
In His Nail-scarred Hands. Marge
P.S. As I wrote those last five words. Just a feeling of depth and hopefulness was felt in my soul as I wrote “Blessed Christmas Season.” Happy Halloweening brings nothing except just what you see in the stores: skeletons, white gauze, bones, black, white and junk.
Yes. You are right. I have a right to my thinking and you do to yours, too. I also have a future with my thinking. I have faith to believe what my Heavenly Father put in the Bible through His servants years and years ago. There has never been one thot changed or made better. What was made, was made. What was spoken, was spoken. What will be, will be.
