Yes! This is true!! The title of the Book: the Bible
There are three sets of verses in the Bible that prove it is very much right up to date and not one bit old. Anyone wanting to deny the Bible, can NOT deny what is here. They are ABSOLUTES.
There is antiquation in the realm of their customs – dress – foods – and homes. Of course. That part of the Word is old. The way they were centuries ago. But now, in 2017, we open the Bible and find it very much up to date and a Book to be dealt with. Old and ancient, yet current.
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. Given to Moses for the people back in approx. 1,450 BC.
#1. You shall have no other gods before Me. Ex. 20:3.
The cults. Those are the “gods” of this day.
#2. You shall not make for yourself an idol. Ex. 20;4.
What is your idol? Money? Children? Things?
#3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. Ex. 20:7.
Do people curse and swear today?
#4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Ex. 20:8.
Is worshipping on Sundays done without questioning or, are other things “more important”?
#5. Honor your father and your mother. Ex. 20:12.
Do you make it a point to be helpful and encouraging to your parents or are your feathers ruffled and you put on the act of holier-than-thou?
#6. Thou shalt not murder. Ex. 20:1.
Are there killings today? Abortions?
#7. You shall not commit adultery. Ex. 20:14.
Triangles, divorces. Are they happening today?
#8. You shall not steal. Ex. 20:15.
Robberies going on all the time.
#9. You shall not bear false witness. Ex. 20:16.
Is there lying, gossiping?
#10. You shall not covet. Ex. 20:17.
Want what someone else has?
Back then: gods, idols, name in vain, keeping the Sabbath holy, honor father/mother, murder, adultery, steal, false witness.
Today: cults, anything put before God, swearing, not attending church, not honoring parents, killing, taking another man’s wife, woman’s husband, lying, gossiping, wanting what others have.
Let’s jump now over to the New Testament era and see what Paul wrote.
19)Now the deeds of the flesh are evident which are: immortality, impurity, sensuality, 20) idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21) envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23) gentleness, self-control, against such things there is no law.
WOW!!!! Let’s let THAT soak in for a moment!!
Vss. 22, 23. Sound pretty up to date to me.
Now. We go to Phil. 4:8 and read: Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
True..honorable..right..pure..lovely..good repute. Doesn’t sound too ancient to me. How about you!!
THINK ABOUT THIS FOR A MOMENT ~~~~~~
Moses brought the Ten Commandments down off the mountain and delivered them to the people FROM GOD, in approximately 1450-1410BC.
Paul wrote the above words of Galatians in approximately 49AD or 55AD.
Paul wrote Philippians in approximately 61AD.
I am posting on my computer in 2017AD. It is some 3,467 years after Moses delivered the Ten Commandments to the people, and some 1,956 years AFTER Paul finished Galatians and Philippians.
Only God! Only God can hand out something that remains intact for centuries. Yes. Our customs – dress – foods – homes are definitely no longer antiquated. BUT~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OUR SINS REMAIN THE SAME!! NO NEW SINS! NO FEWER SINS!
God loves us soooo much! Because of His great Love, He has given us John 3:16. We stand forgiven in His sight, through our actions pertaining to 1John 1:9. Praise His Holy Name!!!!
As I said at the beginning~~~~This is a book that is more up to date than the last book published on this earth, will be!
I REST MY CASE!
